Get Laid....back Luke!
Dutch producer Laidback Luke keeps bringing the heat with every new track he dishes out. His newest summer hit, that I cannot get out of my head, is Natural Disaster. It’s the fourth single released by Laidback Luke this year and features Example on the vocals. Example kills this rocking beat; showing just how well house producers are blending their banging basses and robotic drops with relevant lyrics. And the album art is pretty wild and vibrant just like all of his recent releases. Enjoy and dish it out to your friends to rage to!

“You and I and a Flame Make Three”-River, Akron/Family
I love it when I find a band that I can’t relate to any other. It is rare to find such originality and individualism these days, and it should be cherished. Akron/Family is a band that has been moving up very slowly in popularity for almost 10 years now, but they haven’t given up, and they haven’t sold out to the mainstream. They have created a unique blend of folk and alternative, though not exclusively, to create something of their own. Akron/Family has gone through quite a few members, but they seemed to have settled now with three who can basically do anything.Whenever I find myself in a negative or philosophical mood, or if I’m really (high), I turn straight to the song “River”, by far my favorite tune of theirs. With excellent guitars, soothing vocals, and rhythmic snare drums, “River” transcends any mood into one of bliss and euphoria. It is one of those songs that gets better every time you listen to it. A highly recommended song for those who need to chill like I do. Other top songs include “Another Sky” and “Set ‘Em Free, Pt. 1”. Listen in and enjoy.

A View From Where??? A View From the Fucking East Coast
Last week on our nations 235th birthday, July 4th, 2011, the amazingly filthy Flordia based pop-punk A View From The East Coast dropped their new EP "Meraki". The album starts off with the previously released single "Patterns (What We'll Be). The synth/keys in this song add such an indescribable sound this already song. Next up is "Sunrise", this song starts off pretty slow, however stick it out if slow songs are not your thing because it is extremely worth the wait. On the track guitarist/singer Bryan Ellrod has really stepped up his vocals, his voice has really grown since their debut self-titled EP. "Green Eyes" follows which is by far my favorite song by them not just on the EP. The chorus is extremely catchy and was stuck in my head for weeks after listening to it once. Next up is the only song on the EP that is not new, "In The Rain", which was released on the self-titled EP. Solid song and well polished and a great addition to the EP. Lastly is the "The Bears Are Who We Thought They Were", and no the song is not about bears even though that would have been dope, the song is a sick way of ending the EP. The song has a great chorus and the line "this place is not what it seems" has been stuck in my head all day and be in yours. Overall i would give this EP 9.5 out of 10, a solid yet dope as fuck. They have really honed their skills and have created a music that they should be extremely proud of. One of my good friends is the drummer for this band so please buy the EP one of the best EP's I personally have ever purchased. -Roy K |
