Lil B is Gay?

A year ago Lil B was still known for being a part of the group “The Pack” or getting slapped up on YouTube, but Lil B’s latest album “I’m Gay” was a pleasant surprise to everyone.  The album tells the truth straight out pointing out problems with the poor, people imprisoned and just everyday life issues. Lil B opens up the album with the line “Mental slavery, n***as be hanging off the trees in the woods, and the hood is more than Martin Luther King fighting for a dream, “ In the opening song “Dramatic strings, a bumping drum and clashing cymbals form the backdrop on “Game.” B notes the fake well-wishers that disappear when you need them but track everything you say, waiting to trap you with your own words. He then pivots to the prison industrial complex, noting, ”New kids on the block putting new bids there, new jails with new beds there/ they waiting to put some new kids there. While many people were caught up in the random antics coming from the rapper Lil B showed that he has what it takes to put together a dope album. Johnny Gill’s “I’m Still Waiting” is brilliantly chopped up for “My Last Chance” as Lil B recounts the decisions he made to leave the hood behind. The album closes with the saxophone-infused “1 Time Remix”. Over a funky bass line, B ends the album on a fun note, jazzy note. With songs about struggles of his life people are able to see that he’s more than just an act, he’s legit. Everything on the album was produced and edited on his own, from the artwork, to the sampling as well as promotion. With songs like “Unchain Me” and “I hate myself” we see another side of him. (The album’s cover work is homage to Marvin Gaye’s I Want You album with noted changes to the banners above the dancers. Gaye’s born name was Gay which he had changed to remove any connection to the word ‘gay’)

Lil B "I'm Gay/I'm Happy"

This year at Coachella rapper 'Lil B' raised a whole lot of eyebrows and questions on his new album title “I’m Gay.”  While I’m not the biggest fan of Lil B as a rapper, I am a fan of his originality and his drive for what he loves. Many people don't support his music which I can understand because it does at times touch on some pretty controversial topics. I  didn’t believe the seriousness of this album because there wasn’t enough being said about it, or information out to prove the existence of it, it seemed as if he was just having another random outburst in the spur of the moment. According to Complex<----CLICK IT) though the album does exist and is entitled 'I’m Gay' with 'I’m Happy' under it for further clarification. The album art though I have to say I’m impressed with. The album cover pays tribute to late artist Marvin Gayes “I Want You”.  Other than Lil B’s album art he recently tweeted that he’s working on music with Lil Wayne, which I’m not too thrilled about. The new song or songs will appear on Lil Waynes mixtape titled "Sorry for the Wait."

This is a track called Insane, video uploaded on youtube.
