Thunell. My last name. Let me guess, you pronounced it wrong and probably thought it was German. But it’s actually Swedish. It seems all we Americans know about Sweden is beautiful blondes and IKEA. But those Swedes should now be recognized for their music too. Eric Prydz has long been a big name in house music and the past couple of years has seen the emergence of the likes of Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell (members of Swedish House Mafia) and Avicii.
At the moment, I cannot get enough of Avicii, also known as Tim Berg. He first hit it big with his singleSeek Bromance and ever since then I have salivated at the release of almost every new track. I cannot get enough of My Feelings for You, a remix of a song made by French house duo Cassius. I found it on YouTube after subscribing to UltraRecords and it seems like Avicii just keeps coming out with more sick tracks. His singles this year have been great so far, Street Dancer, Penguin, Levels,Jailbait and Silhouettes.
House music is blowing up right now. It’s not a genre for everyone but if you like electronic music, it does not get much better. Avicii is definitely a DJ worthy of praise and I expect him to have a bright future. I am looking forward to hearing his next single and I am sure I will be hitting the Like button on YouTube when I do.
For all yall who want to see AVICII live, he is playing in Southampton on Saturday June 11th at Neptunes Beach Club. ------> AVICII CONCERT SOUTHAMPTON JUNE 11th <------
