Digitalism released their second album, I Love You Dude, on Monday. The German electro house/dance punk duo was founded in 2004 and previously released Idealism in 2007, which contained some great tracks like Idealistic, Zdarlight, Jupiter Room and Pogo. Following great rookie success, many bands often find it hard to produce better quality or stay at the same level. But Digitalism really captures something with their new release.
Pogo has a sick music video, chex it.

Idealism was a good album and had some great tracks. But I Love You Dude is a stronger representation of the group, certainly contains some quality tunes and has a great flow throughout. With this album, Digitalism continues to blend what’s great with the electro music world, the hard basslines, drums and electronic effects I love from house music and the catchy lyrics of disco inspired dance punk.
The album opens up with four excellent tunes – Stratosphere, 2 Hearts, Circles and Blitz. My favorite two of these are probably 2 Hearts and Blitz. But if you had any fears that the rest of the album does not stand up to the quality of these, those were quickly allayed. The album continues to be strong throughout with songs like Forrest Gump, Reeperbahn, and Miami Showdown. I mean who doesn’t love Forrest and Bubba, wish they could drive as fast as they can on the Autobahn or would crave to be partying at LIV with Mark Cuban the gang and some beautiful ladies?
Digitalism will be ending their 2011 US Tour in New York at Terminal 5 on August 20 <--CLICK IT. If you’re in the area it’s definitely worth the price of admission, especially since Caspa will be playing too. SummerDaze will definitely be there!
Did you expect them to end the album on a shitty note? I hope not because this song blows up, listen to the drop and just dance!
