I started listening to Kam Royal when he dropped his first mixtape named Business as Usual. The tracks were well produced and the lyricism fresh. Kam has clearly “been on his grind for such a long time” with hits from his first mixtape like Shine and Spaceship. His flow in Shine is slick; the way he got us hooked you would think he spits fishing lines. One of my favorite tracks from Business as usual is Crusing. Kam hits this track hard, and the chorus is catchy. Take a listen.
Since his first release, I have been awaiting what Kam can do to the game. His brand new mixtape called Vindicated, that dropped today, June 4th, is wicked. His flow definitely matured, he goes in harder than the first mixtape, showing us a more raw side of his personality. He spits about rich girls, times what he’s “tryna be”, and his only woman, Mary Jane. The samples on this mixtape are a bit different than I’ve heard before, and the beats are really dope. Shout out to Miles. My favorite Felix produced track on the tape is Mary Jane, which shows a calmer side of Kam and exhibits his versatility well. One of the released singles titled Dude has been stuck in my head since I first heard it. If you haven’t seen the video, you are missing out. (See below)
The mixtape is hot, get your paws on it, and keep it on replay cause Kam Royal’s lyrics are “spicy like Cajun food.” The song I have been playing most is What a Day produced by Smoke Trixx. Kam flows real smooth over an even smoother chorus. Peep it folks.
